About
Matt Tremayne
My name is Matt Tremayne, surgical Physician Associate based in Scottsdale, Arizona. I provide surgical first assisting services within 14 different hospitals throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area. With over 24 years of experience in the operating room, I have provided interoperative care in numerous complex, lifesaving, and life-extending procedures across multiple surgical sub-specialties.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege to work alongside leading surgeons on thousands of surgical cases. I have extensive surgical experience in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, complicated minimally invasive laparoscopic and Davinci robotic assisted surgeries, as well as complex oncologic operations within Urology, Gynecologic Oncology, and Colorectal surgery. Additionally, I have participated in many emergent lifesaving trauma surgeries.
To date, I have been directly involved in more than 10,000 Davinci robotic assisted surgeries across a wide range of surgical subspecialties. In addition to my clinical work, I have served as an educator and mentor, training medical students, medical residents and Physician Associate students in surgery. This mentorship includes both hands-on interoperative instruction as well as lecture-based teaching. While I am primarily based in Arizona, I’ve also provided surgical education and training to OBGYN and General surgical residents in other parts of the country.
The Mission Behind this Website
This website was created with one clear purpose: To help people understand surgery and learn how to avoid it when possible. After more than two decades in the OR, I have seen firsthand how many surgeries could have been prevented through better awareness, earlier care, and smarter lifestyle choices. This platform is here to share what I have learned, offer guidance, and give people tools to take control of their health before the operating room becomes a reality.
